The captioned report is the document the file is judged on. The inspection is over, the photographs are filed, and what remains is a narrative that a claims examiner, a reinsurer, a supervising adjuster or opposing counsel reads months later. It is judged on whether a stranger can follow the reasoning from what was observed to what is recommended, without having stood in the building.

Each page gives you a blank template with the sections in the order a reviewing examiner expects, and guidance on what belongs in each — including what adjusters most often get wrong, like blending observation with conclusion, or stating a coverage position in a report whose job was to establish facts. Each also carries a complete filled-in example written against a realistic fictional loss.
